Step 1:
Please wash your hands. Fill the clean flask with the designated volume of warm distilled, filtered, or previously boiled water. You can heat the water in the microwave in intervals of 5 to 10 seconds to avoid overheating the water, damaging the device or burning your nostril.

Step 2:
Cut off the top of the SINURINSE™ mix sachet and pour contents into bottle. Tighten the bottle cap and tube securely. Place a finger on the tip of the cap and gently shake the bottle to dissolve the mixture.

Step 3:
Stand in front of the sink, lean forward to a comfortable level, and tilt your head to the side. Keeping your mouth open and without holding your breath, place the tip of the device comfortably against your nostril. Gently squeeze the bottle until the solution starts to drain through the opposite nostril. Something may drain from the mouth. For proper rinsing, continue to squeeze the bottle gently until at least 1/4 to 1/2 (60 mL to 120 mL or 2 to 4 fl. oz.) of the bottle has been used. Do not drink the solution.

Step 4:
Blow your nose very gently, without crushing it to avoid pressure on the eardrums. If tolerable, gently blow once or twice any residual solution remaining in the nasal passage, because this may clear the posterior nasopharyngeal area, corresponding to the nasal passage. Sometimes some of the solution may reach the back of the throat, if this is the case, spit it out.

To help drain any remaining solution, gently blow your nose while tilting your head forward and to the same side of the nasal passage you just rinsed.

Step 5:
Now repeat steps 3 and 4 on the other nasal passage.

Step 6:
Clean the bottle and cap (see instructions below). Air dry the cap, bottle, and tube on a clean paper towel, or use NeilMed® NasaDOCK or NasaDOCK® Plus™ (sold separately) for storage.

Please read the Warnings before use. Our recommendation is to replace the bottle every three months.

WARNING:
Please read before using
Always flush the nostrils with NeilMed® SINURINSE™ solution. Our sachet solution contains a USP-grade mixture of sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate. These are the highest quality ingredients available to make the dry powder mix. Flushing your nostrils with plain water without our blend will result in a strong burning sensation, as drinking water is not physiologically suitable for the nasal lining, but is suitable for consumption. Also, for your safety, do not use tap water to dissolve the mixture unless it has been previously boiled for five minutes or more, as boiling sterilizes the water.Other options are distilled, micro-filtered (through 0.2 microns), commercially or bottled, as mentioned above, previously boiled, but warm or at body temperature. You can store boiled water in a clean container for seven days or more if it is kept refrigerated. Do not use dechlorinated water, or well water that has not been previously ultra-filtered (0.2 microns), unless it is first boiled, then cooled to body temperature or lukewarm. Do not rinse if your nasal passages are totally blocked, or if you have an ear infection, or plugged up. If you have recently had ear or sinus surgery, contact your physician before irrigating. If you experience any pressure in the ears or burning in the nasal passages, stop flushing, and consult your doctor.Keep out of the reach of children. Always use distilled, Micro-Filtered (0.2 micron), bottled, or previously boiled and lukewarm, or body temperature water. Do not use tap or potable water when flushing nasal passages with NeilMed devices, unless it has been previously boiled and lukewarm.

Before using SINURINSE™ for the first time, please carefully inspect the condition of the cap, tube, and bottle. If any of the parts appear discolored or cracked, contact NeilMed® for a replacement. If you have recently had ear or sinus surgery, consult your physician before irrigating. If you experience any pressure in the ears or burning in the nasal passages, stop flushing, and consult your doctor. Keep out of the reach of children. Please read and retain this attached brochure for instruction and other important information.

We strongly recommend NOT the use of our kit in children or adults who have physical or mental limitations due to developmental disabilities or acquired disorders. Adults should read the instructions before using it on their children. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not drink the solution; however, if you accidentally do so, there is no risk, since the amount of sodium ingested is negligible.

Patients who are unable to get up or bend over the sink SHOULD NOT use this product. We advise you NOT to use this product on patients who are severely debilitated or bedridden.

Tips to avoid discomfort in the ears while washing:

· If you have had ear surgery, please contact your doctor before irrigating
· Do not use if you have an ear infection, or plugged ears
· Rinse with distilled, filtered or previously boiled water
· Keep your mouth open
· Do not interrupt breathing while washing
· While washing, be sure to tilt your head as shown in the photo below
· Gently squeeze the bottle while washing; do not squeeze the bottle too vigorously
Stop rinsing if you feel any sensation of liquid near your ears
Most importantly, always blow your nose gently

To prevent unexpected drainage after rinsing:
In rare cases, especially if you have had sinus surgery, saline can collect in the sinus cavities and nasal passages, and then leak through from your nose hours after rinsing. To avoid this harmless but annoying inconvenience, take an extra step after rinsing: lean forward, tilt your head sideways, and gently blow your nose. Then tilt your head to the other side and ring again. You may have to repeat this operation several times. This will help remove any excess mucus, and any remaining saline solution, from your nasal passages. If the drainage persists afterward, don’t wash just before you leave the house or go to bed.

Caution, DO NOT use kitchen salt with NeilMed® medical devices:

Homemade solutions can have the wrong concentrations, causing inadequate relief or even nasal congestion. Also, table salt and baking soda are not pharmaceutical grade for medical use and may contain impurities.

The NeilMed® SINURINSE™ Nasal Lavage System is a large volume, which will deliver 120-mL to 240-mL (8 fl oz) of saline. Adding one blue packet of NeilMed® SINURINSE™ to 240-mL (8 fl oz) of water will form an isotonic (hypertonic with 2 or more packets) saline solution that is pH neutral, and free of preservatives.
